As kids, some of us were taught to always clean our plates. This can affect us as adults, leading us to eat more when we're already full. There's a great article here about portion control. Do you practice smart portion control? What do you do to keep portions in check? Do you have a mental plan before you start eating? Do you buy pre-portioned foods?
I live alone so it can be tough to prepare meals for myself without making too much food. Sometimes when I've made too much, I over-eat. I've been trying to save extra for left-overs, and I find that helps. Planning on using the extra food for lunches or dinners later in the week keeps me from eating that extra bit of food.
