The "Gift" Of Calories

The "Gift" Of Calories

It happens in the office and around holidays. It's those two-sticks-of-butter desserts people encourage us to eat. Don't eat enough and you'll hear, "What, you don't like it? It doesn't taste good? If you like it, why didn't you eat very much?" How have you dealt with this situation? What can you do or say in the future? Have you ever made a healthy meal or snack to show someone food can taste good and be good for you?

I always substitute low fat ingredients for the full fat ones. No one knows the difference. For Thanksgiving I make a Weight Watchers pumpkin mousse. People will eat it without knowing what it is. View full response

I like to make good healthy food and take it to the office, and love it when asked to share a recipe, it's a good way of getting others to eat healthy. View full response

It seems like at every occasion, especially around the holidays there is always someone trying to get you to try their favorite cookie or have just one more slice of pie. View full response

I cannot stand when people push you to eat. I try to respond with I am working on changing my eating habits to a healthier way of eating, but thank you for the offer. View full response

I hate "food police" people, even if they just ask because they think you didn't like it. I usually respond by just telling the person that I'm on a good old-fashioned diet. View full response
